Born in Portrillos, Chile and then lived in Providencia, Santiago. He studied in the Internado Barros Arana, The School of Applied Arts and The Faculty of Fine Arts of the Universiy of Chile.

He started his career as an illustrator for magazines, books and education text books. He was a professional creator of cartoons for Chilean National Television.
From 1979 he has chosen to dedicate his time to painting and is best known for his watercolours. In 2005 he was elected an International Member of the prestigious Birminghgam Watercolour Society of the United Kingdom.
He has won many prestigious prizes and his works can be seen in public and private collections throughout the World,
