Neville Hunt
Neville was born in Sydney, Australia and won a 1st prize for his art while still at Primary School. At High School Neville followed academic studies but his love for art was paramount and on leaving started an apprenticeship as a sign writer during the day, studying art at night. With his outstanding ability he soon progressed to painting movie posters and scenery for the Sydney Movie Theatres. After graduating in Interior Design from the National Art School in Sydney he went on to the Crown Crystal Glass Design Studio where he was involved with all design aspects of their product range from glass tableware through to hotel doors. He later moved on to a shop fitting company designing layouts for small shops to department stores, producing full colour illustrations of the final designs. Neville’s work started to involve overseas travel and he decided to take a new direction to have more emphasis on painting and having started his own company was commissioned by Bohemia Crystal Australia to paint a series of water colours of their offices in Australia and Czech Republic. Having caught the travel bug he travelled widely and frequently in Europe, painting landscapes as he went and taking numerous reference photographs to work from on his return to Australia. Neville has won many prestigious prizes for his water colours and has gained an international reputation, his work being found in collections thorough the world. He is a member of the Royal Art Society of New South Wales and the Australian Guild of Realist Artists in Melbourne. | ||
